Item Description:
A beautiful condition silver 1/2 Grosz coin from the united lands of Poland and Lithuania, dating back to 1510. The coin celebrates the reign of Sigismund I and was likely minted in Vilnius in what is now modern-day Lithuania. At the time, the Kingdom of Poland and Grand Duchy of Lithuania were both titles personally held by Sigismund I, but the coin predates their formal unification under the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth.
It is approximately 20 mm in diameter and a gram in weight. The obverse side features an armored horseman with the text "SIGISMUND I: 1510" and the reverse side features an eagle with the text "?LITVA?". On both sides, part of the text has been eroded, but otherwise, the coin is in quite good condition.
