Item Description:
A wonderful example of unique early 20th century fascination with scientific innovation, this vintage covered platter is made up of two pieces of bright green uranium glass. As such, under UV light, the pieces will glow marvelously. Uranium glass became a popular as a medium for ceramic products from the mid-1800s onward until Second World War and later Cold War demands for uranium superseded those of commercial production. In addition to their unique coloration, these two pieces are delicately ornamented with flowing patterning that truly make them a standout set.
